The total amount of donor commitments for grant contributions to the Fund for Supporting Energy in Ukraine has exceeded 1 billion euros.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing a statement from the Ministry of Energy.
The Fund's resources are directed towards the restoration of the energy infrastructure destroyed by Russia and to meet the urgent electricity supply needs of communities.
"We are sincerely grateful to our partners for their solidarity in providing such essential support to our energy sector across Ukraine, as well as to the Secretariat of the Energy Community for their assistance in sourcing necessary equipment and organizing procurement," noted Ukraine's Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.
The Fund for Supporting Energy in Ukraine was established in April 2022 through the joint initiative of Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, with the support of the Secretariat of the Energy Community.
Since its inception, it has become an effective tool for delivering international assistance in the energy sector, enabling Ukrainian energy companies to recover from Russian attacks, carry out repairs, and install new capacities, the ministry highlighted.
Donors to the Fund include both public and private sectors from nearly all EU countries, the UK, and the US, as well as international and regional organizations.
