Before the ban: TikTok and other platforms have been blocked in the US. Here’s what users are experiencing (video).

On Sunday, January 19, the popular Chinese service for creating and viewing short videos, TikTok, ceased operations in the United States. Notably, this occurred less than two hours before the official ban on the service went into effect.

This was reported by CNN. The service stopped functioning on Saturday evening (American time) and during the night from Saturday to Sunday (Ukrainian time).

Currently, TikTok users are seeing the following message on their device screens: "We're sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable. The law banning TikTok has gone into effect in the U.S. Unfortunately, this means you cannot use TikTok at this time."

Additionally, TikTok users have encountered this message: "We regret that the U.S. law banning TikTok will go into effect on January 19 and will force us to temporarily suspend our services. We are working to restore our service in the U.S. as soon as possible, and we appreciate your support. Please stay with us."

In addition to TikTok, the CapCut service is also no longer available in the U.S. This service is designed for video editing.
