The head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, who, along with his driver, was killed in an explosion from an improvised explosive device in Moscow early on December 17, previously spoke about "combat mosquitoes." Allegedly, these were developed in the USA to carry dangerous infections.
In 2022 and 2023, Kirilov claimed that there were "U.S.-sponsored" biological laboratories in Ukraine, where "American clients" supposedly intended to create mosquitoes as carriers of yellow fever, as well as dengue and Zika fevers (serious infectious diseases). Later, he alarmed Russians by seriously asserting that the so-called virus-carrying mosquitoes were at a high level of technical readiness to be deployed against the Russian army.
It should be noted that shortly after six in the morning on December 17, an explosion occurred on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow at the very moment Kirilov and his driver exited their home; they died on the spot. Preliminary reports indicate that the explosive device was attached to an electric scooter parked nearby.
As reported by "Telegraph," just a day before Kirilov's death, on December 16, the Security Service of Ukraine posthumously charged him. It has been established that he was responsible for the use of chemical weapons by Russian troops on the eastern and southern fronts against Ukrainian defenders. Since the onset of the full-scale war, over 4,800 instances of chemical munitions usage by the enemy on Kirilov's orders have been recorded.
