Meladze is hesitant to return to Russia on the anniversary of his father's death. What’s the reason behind his reluctance?

The composer was unable to visit his father's grave in Russia.
Меладзе опасается возвращения в Россию в годовщину смерти своего отца. В чем же причина этого решения?

Composer Konstantin Meladze, who holds a Ukrainian passport, has not commented on Russia's war against Ukraine. At the same time, he left the occupying country at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Additionally, the composer parted ways with singer Vera Brezhneva and put his mansion near Moscow up for sale. In 2023, Meladze's permanent residency in Russia was revoked.

Thus, Konstantin Meladze was unable to travel to Russia for the anniversary of his father's death. His brother Valeriy showed him their father's grave via video call. The fact is that the composer can no longer enter Russia as he lacks the necessary documentation, according to Russian media reports.

It has been reported that Valeriy visited their father's grave with his daughters Sofia and Arina. He contacted Konstantin, showed him the grave, and allowed him to speak with their deceased father. At that time, the composer was driving.

It is known that Meladze holds two passports — Ukrainian and Georgian. In Russia, the composer used to renew his residency permit every six months. Since Konstantin left the occupying country after the war began, he was unable to extend his documents. He can enter Russia using his passports; however, it seems he is hesitant to do so.

Konstantin Meladze owns a company called "Meladze Music" in Russia, which generates significant profits for him. Specifically, in 2023, the composer earned 16.7 million rubles. Meladze is also attempting to sell his villa in the Russian-occupied Crimea, but so far, no one has purchased it.

It is not definitively known where Meladze resides. He has a villa in Italy near Lake Garda. There are also reports suggesting that Konstantin may be living in Spain with his brother Valeriy and his wife Albina Dzhanabaeva.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported on what the Meladze brothers say about the war. Currently, they are leading a private lifestyle.
