A surveillance camera captured the chilling moment when a Mercedes fatally struck a man. (VIDEO)

Early on Wednesday, January 22, an accident occurred on Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue in Dnipro, resulting in the death of a man. The moment of this tragic incident was captured by street surveillance cameras, as reported by "Vidomo".

The accident took place near the "Metal Producers Factory" bus stop at 06:42.

The video shows a man standing in the road in front of the tram tracks. Behind the pedestrian, a public transport stop is visible. A Mercedes Sprinter is seen moving along Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue when it suddenly strikes the man. The impact threw him several meters away. The injuries proved fatal – the man died at the scene.

The body lay on the tram tracks. A mirror was knocked off the vehicle upon impact.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
