In Dnipropetrovsk region, a man illegally caught fish worth 210,000 hryvnias (PHOTO).

In the village of Auly, located in the Kamensky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, fish patrol officers discovered a man fishing in violation of fishing regulations at the Kamensky reservoir. This information was reported by "Vidomo," referencing the Dnipropetrovsk Fish Protection Patrol.

It is noted that the serious violation of fishing rules was identified by the Dnipropetrovsk fish patrol in coordination with an operational group from the State Fisheries Agency.

The individual was fishing in shallow waters using an illegal tool—a net. He caught 116 silver crucians, 6 bream, 5 roach, 3 flounder, and one specimen each of carp and bream. The total weight of the illegally harvested aquatic biological resources amounted to 38 kg. The damage caused to fish stocks is estimated at 211,072 UAH.

A protocol for an administrative offense was drawn up against the man under part 4 of article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (КУоАП). Additionally, a criminal investigative group from the National Police was called to the scene. Currently, the possibility of initiating criminal proceedings under article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal fishing, hunting, or other aquatic resource extraction) is being considered. The fishing tool has been confiscated by the investigator. The illegally harvested aquatic biological resources have been handed over to an entity engaged in economic activity, with whom a storage agreement for the products has been established.
