Sometimes, Ukrainians unknowingly use calques from the Russian language. However, there is no need for this, as Ukrainian is very rich and has precise words and expressions for any situation.
Language expert and the most popular teacher in Ukraine, Oleksandr Avramenko, shared on the "Breakfast with 1+1" program how to replace the calqued expression "you are right." In Russian, people say "вы правы, ты прав/а" to express agreement with their interlocutor.
In Ukrainian, Avramenko explains, the shore can be right, and the hand or leg can be right as well. In our language, there are at least three options to agree with someone and express alignment with their opinion.
