The U.S. is hurrying to provide military aid to Ukraine before a change in leadership, but there are some challenges to overcome.

In Washington, there is a flurry of activity regarding the aid being sent to Ukraine.
США ускоряют передачу военной помощи Украине до смены власти, однако возникают определенные проблемы.

Officials from the current U.S. President Joe Biden's administration are planning to finalize the transfer of the last 6 billion dollars in aid to Ukraine as soon as possible. There are concerns that elected President Donald Trump will immediately halt funding for the war-torn country.

This information comes from Politico, citing two representatives from the Biden administration. They noted that the challenges with deliveries are significant, as the transfer they are initiating in the coming weeks is unlikely to reach Ukraine before the change of power. This is due to the fact that some of the equipment has not even been produced yet.

In April 2024, the U.S. allocated 61 billion dollars for supporting Ukraine. Currently, only 4.3 billion remains for supplies from military stockpiles, along with an additional 2.1 billion for financing production.

American officials indicate that both Trump and his vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance have repeatedly criticized the aid shipments, leading them to believe that assistance will be cut in the first days of the new president's administration.

"The first thing he will do is cut off aid to Ukraine. I would expect him to make a big show out of it. He will say 'promise fulfilled' — believes Jim Townsend, a senior Pentagon official for NATO and Europe during Barack Obama's administration.

At the same time, the publication reports that in the Senate, most Republicans actively support not only the allocation of aid to Ukraine but also the removal of restrictions on the use of American weapons.

Moreover, the authors of the article predict that Trump may use the remaining aid package as leverage against either Kyiv or Moscow to push them to agree to his terms.

It is worth noting that Russia has already indicated that it does not intend to stop until it achieves its goals in Ukraine. This includes the complete annexation of Crimea, as well as the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions.
