Subsidies can be received in just two ways: who is eligible and how cash assistance is accessible.

In Ukraine, the allocation of subsidies for the heating season is currently underway. When submitting documents, it is mandatory to provide the IBAN of the account where the funds will be deposited in the bank – this is the most common method of receiving a subsidy.

According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, subsidies can be provided not only through bank transfers but also in cash, but only under specific circumstances. This is done through "Ukrposhta" at the recipient's actual place of residence, similar to how pensions or monetary assistance are delivered to those unable to receive them by other means. Recipients have the discretion to allocate these funds for housing and utility payments, but they are obligated to pay for the actual services consumed.

Recipients are notified about the granting of the subsidy by the Pension Fund via their chosen method of communication, or they receive a notification on the "Dii" portal if they submitted their documents online. The subsidy is calculated from the month the documents are submitted; however, recipients should not expect payment in the same month of submission — it is disbursed in the following month for the previous one. After the initial payments, recipients can track the amounts paid and accrued on the Pension Fund's website in the "My Subsidy" section.
