Zelensky spoke with Trump after the elections: what topics were covered?

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, spoke with the elected President of the United States, Donald Trump. He congratulated him on his victory and agreed to maintain further contact.

The head of state reported this on his Telegram channel. According to him, the Republican's victory was made possible by his electoral campaign.

"I had a great phone conversation with President Trump and congratulated him on his historic and convincing victory — this result was achievable due to his remarkable electoral campaign. I acknowledged his family and team for their excellent work," he wrote.

Zelensky added that they agreed to keep the dialogue going and enhance cooperation, also reminding that it is vital for peace that the U.S. maintains strong and firm leadership.

As previously reported, Zelensky had already congratulated Trump on his election victory and expressed hope that he would help achieve a just peace in Ukraine.

Trump himself stated after his victory that his presidency would be a golden age for the States, and also promised to end all wars.
