The Ukrainian self-propelled artillery system SAU "Bogdan" has become the first Ukrainian weapon with a caliber of 155 mm. At the end of 2023, it was received by the 48th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brigade operates against the occupiers in the Donetsk direction.

The impressions of the military are published by ArmyInform. Despite the declared range of 42 km for the high-explosive shell and 60 km for the active-reactive shell, the military worked at a maximum range of 30 km. They note the exceptional accuracy of the shots compared to Soviet and foreign analogs, particularly the Panzerhaubitze 2000. Another significant advantage mentioned by the military is the armor — there were instances when "Bogdan" withstood an attack from 5 kamikaze drones, the crew sustained a concussion but was unharmed. A similar situation occurred after triggering an anti-tank mine.

The self-propelled artillery system has already recorded more than 3000 shots. During this time, the SAU has shown its character. While "Bogdan" is under warranty, repairs are carried out by the manufacturer's representatives. There have been frequent requests for wedging and replacing operational rings on the gun. "Hangs" in the electronics are also encountered.
