You can prepare many exquisite dishes at home. We previously shared how to roast a whole chicken to make it especially juicy. Now, we are sharing a recipe for luxurious potato pastries.

The recipe was shared by a culinary blogger from Germany on the YouTube channel "Kochkunst und Genuss." According to the video author, this is his grandfather's recipe from Hungary. They are so delicious that you could make them every day.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 100 ml milk
  • 30 g butter
  • 500 g potatoes
  • garlic
  • onion
  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 250 g ground beef
  • 2 onions
  • 4 tablespoons corn starch.
  • 60 g butter
  • 200 ml cream
  • a bunch of parsley
  • flour
  • oil for frying

Cooking Method:

  1. Take three eggs, crack them open. Add salt, pepper, and whisk until smooth. Mix in half a cup of milk and a pinch of oregano. Stir again and pour in the melted butter.
  2. Put a pot of water on the stove. Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and add them to the pot. Add salt.
  3. Grate the garlic. Sauté it in vegetable oil. Add the diced onion.
  4. Sauté and then add rosemary. Next, add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula as it cooks.
  5. Cut the mushrooms into cubes. Mash the boiled potatoes. Once they cool a bit, mix in the egg mixture.
  6. Add the chopped green onion to the potatoes. Stir in the corn starch and mix well.
  7. In a skillet, melt 60 g of butter. Sauté the chopped mushrooms. Add the diced onion and salt. Cook until the onion is translucent, then pour in the cream.
  8. Finely chop the parsley and add it to the meat. Grate the garlic and add it to the mushrooms. Season the mushrooms with black pepper and nutmeg.
  9. Pour flour onto a work surface. Place a large spoonful of the potato mixture and spread it out. Add a bit of the meat mixture in the center. Top with a piece of butter and carefully fold the potato around it.
  10. Form all the pastries in this manner. Fry them in oil until golden brown on both sides.

Serve the pastries drizzled with mushroom sauce. They are incredibly delicious, hearty, and wonderful. We also shared how to make Polish zurek soup.
