Switzerland is prepared to serve as a venue for negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. This can only take place with the mutual consent of the parties involved.
This information is reported by the publication Le Temps. The head of the information service of the Swiss Foreign Ministry, Nicolas Bideau, stated that the USA, Russia, and Ukraine have received the corresponding proposal.
After the summit in Bürgenstock, which took place last summer, Switzerland had already offered a platform for a meeting of the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and the USA. At the same time, the publication notes that the Swiss authorities will not take the initiative for the meeting but can organize it upon request from the parties.
According to Nicolas Bideau, even an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin issued by the International Criminal Court cannot prevent him from coming to Switzerland — the country's government allegedly has the right to make an exception if it is necessary for peace negotiations.
It is worth noting that Donald Trump has stated he is willing to meet with Vladimir Putin to "end" the war between Russia and Ukraine.
As reported earlier by "Telegraph," media outlets have identified four key points of a potential peace agreement in Ukraine.
