The hryvnia will not strengthen in 2025, despite support from foreign partners. Economists are confident in this assessment, as it occurs because Ukraine exports significantly less compared to its imports.
For 2025, economists provide various forecasts, all converging on one point—the state budget sets the exchange rate at 45 UAH per dollar, and the foreign currency is unlikely to exceed this level, at least in the first half of the year.
The head of the treasury department at Globus Bank, Taras Lesovoy, believes that the rate will be 41.8-42.1 UAH/USD in January. By the end of March, the value of foreign currency is expected to rise to 42-42.3 UAH/USD. This refers to the official exchange rate.
Economist Daniil Monin also holds the view that the hryvnia will decline. According to his forecast, the exchange rate in the first half of the year will be 42-43 UAH/USD. It is likely that the cash rate may traditionally be higher.
As of December 28, the dollar exchange rate in banks is 41.7/42.25 UAH for USD, with cash rates at 42.25/42.30 UAH/USD. The dollar's value has been increasing in recent days. Depending on the bank and the city, the currency price may fluctuate.
Previously, "Telegraph" reported that the dollar exchange rate could rise by several dozen kopecks in the coming days. An increase is anticipated, at least until the end of December.
