Cybercriminals have devised a new fraudulent scheme — they are sending fake messages to Ukrainians supposedly regarding debts owed to the company "Nova Poshta", demanding payment to new account details while threatening legal action. These emails are part of a phishing campaign aimed at deceiving individuals.
This was reported by the press service of "Nova Poshta." The company's cybersecurity division is already working on blocking the network of servers from which these messages are sent.
"The perpetrators exploit trust in well-known brands and manipulate sensitive information — in this case, they claim there is a debt," the statement reads.
It is known that Ukrainians have started receiving messages purportedly from "Nova Poshta" in large numbers. The emails state that a person has a significant "debt" for the company's services that must be urgently paid using the new account details. Otherwise, the scammers threaten legal action.
However, these messages have no relation to "Nova Poshta" and are sent by cybercriminals who use this deceptive method to swindle money from trusting individuals.
Ukrainians have been reminded once again not to open emails from unknown senders and to avoid clicking on links.
Additionally, all users who attempted to open attachments in these emails have been given several recommendations by the company's cybersecurity division. First and foremost, it is essential to install antivirus software, followed by a complete reinstallation of the operating system.
"These actions are necessary to protect your data and prevent further risks," the company emphasized.
Let us remind you that the subsidiary of "Nova Poshta," Supernova Airlines, has received permission to operate charter flights within European Union countries. Final preparations for the launch of flights are currently underway.
Earlier, "Telegraf" reported that just before Christmas, "Nova Poshta" set a record for parcel shipments. In just one day, the company accepted an astonishing two million two hundred thousand parcels for shipment. This indicates that business in our country continues to thrive and supports the economy of Ukraine.
