In Dnipropetrovsk region, authorities shut down an underground whiskey production facility (PHOTOS).

Detectives from the Main Division of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine exposed a resident of Dnipropetrovsk region who organized the illegal production of alcoholic beverages in garages and their subsequent distribution. This was reported by the press service of the Bureau, as conveyed by "Vydomo".

The man was not registered as a business entity and operated without a license for the production and sale of excise goods.

It was established that the alcoholic entrepreneur involved an additional 5 individuals in the illegal activity. The products were manufactured in an artisanal manner and stored in garages in Kryvyi Rih. The suspects established supply channels for raw materials and packaging: tetra packs, cardboard boxes with labels of well-known vodka and whiskey brands, plastic containers of various sizes, ethyl alcohol, colorants, flavorings, etc.

The finished counterfeit products were sold without documentation in the territories of Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions.

Bureau employees conducted over 50 searches in warehouses, retail spaces, shops, cafes, commercial establishments, as well as in the apartments and vehicles of the organizer and participants.

Overall, detectives seized more than 2.5 tons of alcohol, counterfeit alcoholic beverages of various well-known brands in polymer bottles and "bag-in-box" packaging with and without labels, barrels, concentrates, vehicles, etc.

Expert examinations revealed that the beverages contained ethyl alcohol and did not meet DSTU standards.

The suspects were informed of their suspicion for committing criminal offenses as stipulated in parts 3 of Article 27, parts 3 of Article 28, and parts 1 and 2 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, storage for the purpose of sale, as well as transportation for the purpose of sale and sale of illegally produced alcoholic beverages, committed by an organized group).
