Не с той стороны готовилось нападение? В Беларуси слышны взрывы и гудение дронов (видео)

The sounds of war have reached Belarus. Residents of Gomel heard explosions on the night of February 13.

There were buzzing sounds from drones. In local communities, Belarusians shared videos and expressed their concerns about the event.

It all began before the start of February 13. Videos and messages from Belarusians about a potential drone attack in the Gomel area started to appear online.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions, the operation of air defense systems, and even observed objects falling from the sky in flames. The event was witnessed in Gomel itself and its surroundings.

It is important to note that during this time, Russia launched another attack on Ukraine using its strike drones. It is likely that some of these drones entered Belarusian territory, which has happened before.

There is also information circulating online that drones were found in the villages of Romanovichi, Novaya Belitsa, and in the Gomel microdistrict of Volotov.

The distance from Gomel to Ukraine is about 40 km. See the city's location on the map.

Gomel is the second largest city in Belarus and holds significant strategic importance. Its location approximately 40 kilometers from the Ukrainian border has made it one of the key logistics centers for the Russian army.

The city is traversed by critically important rail and road routes used for military transportation. There is also an airport, which is utilized for military purposes, as well as a river port on the Sozh River.

The industrial potential of Gomel is represented by key strategic enterprises. Among them is a powerful chemical plant producing mineral fertilizers and an agricultural machinery manufacturing plant. Particularly significant is "Gomselmash" — one of the largest producers of agricultural equipment in the region. Located 40 kilometers from the city in Zhlobin is the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant.

Lukashenko's Statements on the War in Ukraine

The head of the Belarusian regime, Alexander Lukashenko, consistently denies Belarus's involvement in the war in Ukraine. However, during the large-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia on February 24, 2022, Russian troops entered the Kyiv region from Belarus.

It should be noted that Lukashenko frequently makes cynical statements about Ukraine. For instance, he recently claimed that Belarus should be present at negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, especially when it comes to territory.

Furthermore, as Lukashenko asserts, Belarus is prepared to help rebuild Ukraine after the war ends. He believes that the United States will not do so.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that Belarus is actively deploying troops to the border with Ukraine.
