Due to damage to energy facilities during the massive missile and drone attack by Russian forces on December 25, Ukraine is currently experiencing power outage schedules. These restrictions are expected to last at least 5-7 days.
This was reported by Alexander Kharchenko, the director of the Energy Research Center, during an interview on "Morning.LIVE". According to him, the power outages could last even longer.
However, the expert assures that there will be no blackout in Ukraine. Energy specialists know what to do and how to protect the energy system.
"In this competition — they destroy, we restore — we are currently ahead. We do this better than they can destroy," Kharchenko stated.
At the same time, the restrictions caused by the recent attacks by Russian forces will last for up to a week. This forecast is based on the currently mild weather.
"If the frost sets in, unfortunately, under any scenario, there will be restrictions, and with the current technical composition of our energy system, these restrictions will intensify. So if it drops to -5…-10°C, there won't be one and a half queues; there will be three, and we need to be prepared for that as it is a very possible scenario," the director of the Energy Research Center described the situation.
As reported by "Telegraph," there are also issues with electricity supply in Russia. Following the drone attack on December 25, power was lost in several localities of the Belgorod region.
