January in Ukraine has turned out to be quite warm, and after a brief period of frost that lasted only a few days, the warming has returned. However, the weather is expected to deteriorate by the middle of next week.

According to the forecasts from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, from January 19 to 22, no precipitation is anticipated in Ukraine; it will be mostly cloudy with some clear spells, experiencing slight negative temperatures at night and positive temperatures during the day. However, the weather will change on the night of Wednesday, January 22.

In the western regions, including Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and parts of Cherkasy, light wet snow or rain mixed with snow is expected at night. The air temperature will drop to -3 degrees, meaning that icy conditions can be anticipated in the morning. During the day on January 22, this part of Ukraine is expected to see temperatures ranging from 3 to 7 degrees above zero.

In the rest of the country (excluding the eastern regions and Zaporizhzhia), light rain is also forecasted, along with occasional nighttime "minus" temperatures. Therefore, morning ice is possible everywhere except for Odesa (where even at night the temperature will remain above zero) and in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, as they will see no precipitation.

During the day on Wednesday, the thermometer will rise to between +2 and +8 degrees. The coolest temperatures will be in Sumy, while the warmest will be in the south, where Crimea could reach +10 degrees.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported on the weather for the weekend of January 18-19 in five major cities of Ukraine — Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Lviv. Overall, the air temperature is quite high for January.
