It's hard to breathe again. The air quality in Kyiv has sharply declined.

In one of the districts, the indicators are within the normal range.
Качество воздуха в Киеве снова ухудшилось, и дышать стало трудно.

On Tuesday, January 7, the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, recorded a decline in air quality for the first time this year. In most regions, the average data exceeded the permissible pollution limits.

This is witnessed by the SaveEcoBot portal. It is noted that by 9:30 AM, the air quality in Kyiv was at a yellow level. Meanwhile, one of the districts remained at a green level, where the air quality is within the norm.

Currently, the worst situation is in the Svyatoshyn district, where the pollution level has reached 75 AQI PM2.5. In other districts, except for Obolon, the figures range from 60 to 52 AQI PM2.5. Only in Obolon is the air quality within the norm at 50 AQI PM2.5, which is the upper limit of the permissible standard. No changes in the radiation background have been recorded.

The humidity in the capital is at 85%, and the wind speed is 1 m/s, which may contribute to the deterioration of air quality. The wind is blowing from the northeast.

In some regions of Ukraine, air quality is also declining, but the indicators have not reached the orange or red thresholds. It is not precisely known why air quality has worsened in Kyiv, but this may pose a health risk to sensitive individuals.

It is important to note that polluted air can harm people with lung and heart diseases. Special care should be taken for children and the elderly. Residents of Kyiv are advised to close their windows, drink more water, and spend less time outdoors, especially those with health issues.

Previously, "Telegraf" reported that Kyiv decided to purchase tram cars at an astronomical price.
