Prosecutors from the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office in Dnipro have submitted an indictment to the court against the organizer and four members of an organized group for theft, fraud, and unauthorized interference with the operation of information (automated) systems (part 3 of Article 28, part 5 of Article 185, part 1 of Article 366 of Ukraine's Criminal Code). This information was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation revealed that the accused, involving an employee of the forensic medical examination bureau, stole SIM cards and mobile phones from deceased Ukrainian soldiers at the morgue.
Among the members of the organized group was an IT specialist. He changed passwords and gained full access to the online banking accounts of the fallen soldiers.
Subsequently, the accused withdrew cash, took out loans in the names of the deceased, and transferred money to their own accounts.
A total of 20 victims have been identified, with the damage amounting to over 1.5 million UAH.
All members of the group are currently in custody.
