Police in Dnipro have apprehended a suspect in the murder of his uncle. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the National Police of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
On December 24, the police received a report from a local resident about the discovery of a man's body in a house on Kroleveckaya Street in the Amur-Nyzhnodniprovsk district of the city.
Law enforcement officials determined that the previous day, the 78-year-old man had received a visit from his nephew. Learning that the victim had money, the assailant took a metal pipe and fatally struck the pensioner.
To evade punishment, the suspect disposed of the pipe and fled with the stolen money to Kamenskoye, where he hid in a hotel.
Investigators located the previously convicted resident.
On December 26, investigators informed the detained individual of his suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 115, paragraph 6 (premeditated murder for mercenary motives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty for this crime is up to 15 years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
