Police in Dnipro have reported suspicions against a 46-year-old man who, driven by jealousy, opened fire and killed an individual. This was reported by "Vідомо," referencing the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region.
On January 19, around 11:20 PM, the police received a report of gunshots being heard in a dacha cooperative in the Samarsky district of the city. The woman had another man as a guest. The suspect fired more than 10 shots from a hunting rifle at the man and also hit the woman in the leg several times. The 21-year-old guest succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Upon receiving a description of the suspect's vehicle, law enforcement officers quickly began to check areas where the vehicle might have traveled. The patrol police discovered the car on Naberezhna Pobedy Street and detained the driver.
From the suspect's vehicle, the police seized a hunting rifle, for which the man had a permit, along with ammunition, four grenades, two smoke bombs, two knives, and two homemade grenades.
The seized evidence has been sent for examination, and based on the results, the initiation of criminal proceedings for illegal handling of weapons and ammunition is planned.
The attacker was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
On January 20, investigators informed the suspect of charges related to criminal offenses under Part 1 of Article 115 (premeditated murder) and Part 1 of Article 121 (intentional serious bodily injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
