In Marganets, police have identified a man involved in the theft of fragments from a memorial. This information was reported by "Vydomo" citing the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
The crime occurred on January 7 around noon. Law enforcement stopped a Mazda 6 driven by a 41-year-old local resident and discovered a bag containing 25 copper letters taken from the local historical monument "Memorial of Remembrance."
According to the investigation, the man was transporting the copper letters to a metal recycling point for melting.
A record has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft). Plans are in place to inform the suspect of the charges. The man faces a potential prison sentence of five to eight years.
