On Friday, December 27, around 6:40 AM, an explosion was heard in the Svyatoshyn district of Kyiv. Later, information about a fire emerged.
According to local Telegram channels, a car caught fire at one of the intersections. It is noted that this could have led to the explosion.
At the same time, residents in local chats reported hearing an explosion around 6:40. One of them speculated that a generator might have exploded, and then the fire spread to a nearby parked vehicle.
Videos have also surfaced online showing the burning car. The exact location of the incident has not been disclosed. However, eyewitnesses report that firefighters and medics arrived at the scene.
Currently, there is no official information regarding the incident. The capital's police and the State Emergency Service have yet to comment on this fire.
As a reminder, a teenager was detained in Kyiv on suspicion of setting fire to a "Ukrposhta" branch in the Svyatoshyn district under instructions from Russia. According to preliminary investigation data, the minor agreed to commit the crime in exchange for a promise of payment — he broke the post office door and set the premises on fire.
