On Friday, January 3rd, the trial for the murder of linguist and public figure Irina Faryon began at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Lviv. This information was reported via a live broadcast from the courtroom, as conveyed by "Vidomo".

Around 11 AM, the suspect Vyacheslav Zinchenko was brought to the court. Outside the building, some attendees chanted "life sentence," while others shouted "freedom."

The court session, originally scheduled to start at 10:30, was delayed due to a report of a bomb threat. It commenced with a one-hour delay.

The suspect in Faryon's murder claimed that he had declared a hunger strike six times. According to him, these hunger strikes did not last more than 36 hours, thus "they were formal." He also continues to deny his guilt.
