What are the advantages of the Ukrainian project "Atlas," which aims to protect a 1,300 km front line from drone threats?

The Ukrainian manufacturer of REP and REB systems, Kvertus, is implementing a truly large-scale project called "Atlas."
Каковы преимущества украинского проекта "Атлас", который имеет амбициозную цель — защитить 1300 км фронта от дронов?

The Ukrainian company Kvertus (part of NAUDI), known for its anti-drone solutions, officially unveiled its new large-scale project called "Atlas" earlier this week, with the support of the Brave1 cluster for Defense Tech development in Ukraine and international partners.

The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive ecosystem to protect military personnel on the front lines, as well as in areas close to the frontline, from unmanned aerial vehicles, covering an area of over 1300. This ecosystem will integrate various systems produced by Kvertus, which have already proven their effectiveness directly on the battlefield.

As noted by the company, the ambassador for the project is Ukrainian fencer Olga Kharlan, and representatives from military brigades were also present at the official presentation of the "Atlas" project.

"If we want to survive, we must be smarter. New approaches, new technologies, a new protection ecosystem. Our experts have developed such a system - the joint and simultaneous operation of REP and REB systems, with the capability to synchronize the system with our own drones," the presentation video of the "Atlas" system states.

Among the advantages of "Atlas" are a greater range of operation, interference that is tens of times more effective, stealth from enemy radio-electronic reconnaissance means, longer operational duration, absence of Chinese and foreign technologies, and protection against hacking even if the enemy manages to capture such a system.

"This is not just a single device; it's an intelligent protection system that outpaces the current capabilities of the enemy. A system that is remotely controlled by one operator through a secure server cabinet, integrating reconnaissance and suppression of enemy technology."

One system provides 25-50 km of enhanced security along the combat engagement line, essentially combining existing systems from Kvertus - the Azimuth UAV detection and targeting station and the Mirage electronic warfare system. The "Atlas" project will involve the creation of a series of such systems to protect soldiers along the entire current line of engagement. The project's cost is estimated at 5.2 billion UAH.

"Importantly, all of this can be managed remotely. It doesn't matter whether it's one device, five, 500, or 2500 devices - everything can be integrated into one network through our server, allowing management of the entire combat engagement line or specific sections, granting access to commanders of various levels and providing access to situational awareness maps," noted the director and co-owner of the company, Yaroslav Filimonov, in a comment to "24 Channel."
