Russians attacked the Gosproм building in Kharkiv, which is one of the symbols of Kharkiv and is heavily protected by UNESCO. Photos and videos showing the condition of the damaged structure have already surfaced online.
Local Telegram channels and media have showcased the affected Gosprom. The footage reveals shattered windows, collapsed floors, and significant damage to the building's facade.
"Direct hits were recorded at the Gosprom building. This is a monument of national significance, designed in the constructivist style," reported the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration earlier.
The Office of the General Prosecutor noted that on October 28, around 9:00 PM, the armed forces of Russia carried out an airstrike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. An aerial munition struck one of the entrances of the Gosprom in the city center. This building houses several offices of official authorities and organizations.
According to preliminary data, the strike on the city was executed with a FAB-500.
"One of the KABs hit directly into the Gosprom premises; this building was not destroyed by the Nazis during World War II, and now the Russians are attempting to annihilate it. This building contains administrative offices and civil offices. The impact occurred in the entrance where the commercial court is located, and the aerial bomb entered the office of one of the judges. This is a civilian facility, and it holds no military significance," stated Vladimir Tymoshko, the head of the Kharkiv police, to "Suspilne."
