After a day without restrictions, on December 18, the electricity outage schedules returned to Ukraine. However, a blackout no longer poses a threat to our country.
This was stated by Ukrainian MP from the "Servant of the People" faction, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy Issues, Serhiy Nahorniak. According to him, the Ukrainian energy sector is significantly better prepared than last winter.
We are talking about the second level of protection, which has proven to be effective. It can shield energy facilities not only from debris and "Shaheds" but also from direct missile strikes.
Nahorniak added that the reduction in electricity restrictions is due to the fact that Ukraine's nuclear and thermal power plants are operating at full capacity, as energy workers have been working 24/7 to restore infrastructure. However, he noted that the energy sector in Ukraine is operating on the brink of consumption and generation.
As reported by "Telegraph," earlier, Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak stated that hourly electricity outage schedules will be a reality for several more months. At least until spring arrives.
We remind you that new electricity outage schedules were introduced in Ukraine. Director of the Energy Research Center, Alexander Kharchenko, explained the reasons behind this decision. One of the main goals is to ensure a more equitable distribution of electricity among consumers.
