Огни, светодиодные олени и елки: 10 идей, как сделать рождественский декор стильным и оригинальным источником света.

This year, Ukrainians will celebrate Christmas a bit earlier, and once again, this is happening amidst emergency power outages. However, to create light and a festive mood, you don't need electricity or a large budget. It's enough to draw inspiration from ideas on Pinterest and choose decorations that run on batteries or have USB connections.

"Telegraph" has gathered 10 ideas for decorating your home for Christmas that can also serve as emergency lighting in case of blackouts.

1. Curtain Garland

The festive curtain garland can operate on batteries or USB, allowing you to easily connect it to a power bank. As a Christmas decor element, it excels at creating an incredible holiday atmosphere. Typically, you can choose a lighting mode (from ordinary warm gold/cool white lights to images of Santa Claus dashing with reindeer and the Ukrainian flag) and control it via a remote or mobile app.

How to attach: Usually, hooks for hanging are included in the package, which latch onto the top of the curtain.

2. LED Tree

6

The garland tree adds coziness to the home and a festive spirit, and it can be used instead of a traditional Christmas tree. This kind of tree can even be placed outdoors if you have your own space, as it withstands rain, snow, and moisture.

It interests us because, besides uplifting our mood, it also illuminates the room.

3. Wall Wreath

A wall wreath with lights is a versatile decor element that can be adapted for any holiday or season. Add fresh or artificial flowers to give the wreath a touch of freshness and color.

4. Hanging Christmas Lights

8

Battery-operated Christmas lights with built-in LED bulbs are perfect for hanging in windows. They come with built-in timers that can turn the lights on at the same time every day and keep them lit for 6 hours.

There are also designs made from pine in a Scandinavian style.

5. Christmas Branch

If you don't want to bring home a whole tree or it's too expensive, consider a design approach like a Christmas or pine branch. You can place it in a vase and wrap it with a garland.

If you have plenty of time and inspiration, you can hang the branch on the wall, bookshelf, or curtain rod and decorate it with lights and ornaments.

6. Ponytail Garland

This garland breaks down in 2 minutes and can be easily attached to a tree. Like the curtain garland, it can be controlled with a remote and powered by a power bank or batteries.

7. House Candle Holders

3

This simple design choice will instantly bring a Christmas atmosphere and coziness to your home. They can be purchased in various styles: either as ceramic candle holders shaped like houses or a safer option with a small bulb that can be turned on with a button. Any of these options will not require electricity.

8. Decorative LED Reindeer

4

If you're looking for something original, consider Christmas reindeer figurines with sleds, which are usually placed outdoors. Use LED reindeer to highlight specific areas in your home, such as by the fireplace or on the festive table as part of the decor. They can be a great accent during holiday dinners or parties.

9. LED Candles

They create a cozy atmosphere without the fire risk, although their light isn't particularly bright. Group several LED candles of varying sizes on one table or shelf to create a dynamic look. Use trays, fir branches, pine cones, and dried flowers.

5

10. Lights in Glass Containers

6

Turn your enthusiasm for collecting jars or empty bottles into a useful item. Fill a clear jar with a garland of small LED lights. Add natural elements like pine cones, dried flowers, or leaves to the garland. This will create a natural look and add texture.

Ideas for placement:

  • On tables: Place several glass containers with garlands on the festive table.
  • On shelves: Use glass jars with garlands as decorative elements on shelves or bookcases.
  • On windows: Set glass containers on the windowsill to create a cozy atmosphere with external lighting.

Don't be afraid to experiment with colors, textures, and shapes — this will help create a unique style that reflects your personality and brings joy to you and your loved ones.

Earlier, "Telegraph" reported that in Kyiv, the main Christmas tree of the country was lit. The holiday beauty, adorned for the festivities, is already shining brightly in Sofia Square.
