The newly signed player of the Czech club "Líšeň," Artem Besedin, explained why he did not return to Ukraine, despite receiving such offers. Previously, the forward played in Kazakhstan.

The relevant comment from Besedin is reported by idnes.cz. The forward emphasized that he does not want to put his family in danger in Ukraine.

– Last season, you transferred from Kyiv's "Dynamo," where you celebrated the greatest success and played 143 matches. However, due to the Russian invasion, Ukrainian teams are still forced to seek refuge abroad for European competitions. So, were you not tempted to go back home?

– I received offers. Of course, Ukrainian clubs know about me, and some have reached out. I was somewhat drawn to go home, but when the war started, I was in Ukraine and experienced part of that terrible time. I have small children, and I do not want to expose my family to that again, so I preferred to look for offers from abroad, – said Besedin.

It is worth noting that the 28-year-old Besedin is married to Radmila Karafetova. The couple has four children.

In the 2024/25 season, Artem has played 5 matches without scoring. The 28-year-old player has 19 appearances for the Ukrainian national team, in which he has scored two goals.

Recall that the Ukrainian national team finished its performances in the first group of Division B of the Nations League. After 6 rounds, the Ukrainians secured second place in the group. Now the Blue-Yellows are awaiting an upcoming playoff match against Belgium. Besedin was last called up to the national team for Euro 2020.
