The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, whose inauguration is set for January 20, plans to make his first foreign visit to China and meet with Xi Jinping.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal. According to the newspaper, the trip could take place within the first 100 days following Trump's inauguration. However, those surrounding the "new-old" president have not yet made a final decision on when and where the first foreign visit might occur.
The Trump team also refrained from commenting to the media on this matter.
At the same time, Trump himself stated on his Truth Social page that he had a phone conversation with Xi Jinping on Friday, January 17. Among other topics, they discussed trade, fentanyl, TikTok, and more.
"I hope we will solve many problems together, and we will start immediately," wrote Donald Trump.
As reported earlier by "Telegraph," President Joe Biden and his wife Jill will attend Trump's inauguration. Other guests include the 43rd President of the United States, George Bush, and former First Lady Laura Bush; the 42nd President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.
Recall that earlier "Telegraph" covered what Biden's inauguration was like four years ago.
