Power outages may return to Ukraine: the main condition has been revealed.

Power outages may soon return to Ukraine. This scenario is likely if the frosts come back. However, the situation is currently stable.

Director of the energy research center, Alexander Kharchenko, stated this during a broadcast on KIEV24. According to him, Ukraine may face electricity outages as early as February.

"Yes, February could be challenging. If there are frosts, it will be difficult. And if temperatures drop to -5 and below, it is likely that electricity restrictions will return," Kharchenko said.

However, in other situations, energy specialists have experience from previous years and know how to act in various scenarios.

He also added that the Russians are aiming to destroy the compressor stations of gas storage facilities that are on the surface. Despite the damages, there is no catastrophe.

"I think we shouldn't expect any apocalyptic outcomes. On the other hand, damage is occurring. So, we need to strengthen our defenses. This task is being implemented, and work is ongoing," Kharchenko concluded.

Recall that earlier, "Telegraf" reported that in December 2024, Ukraine introduced unified schedules for hourly power outages.
