"Marriage" for leaving the country: a scheme for draft evaders uncovered in Dnipro (PHOTOS)

In Dnipro, police uncovered a criminal scheme involving the illegal crossing of the border by individuals liable for military service, who entered into sham marriages with people with disabilities. This was reported by "Vydomo," citing the press service of the National Police.

The police established that residents of Dnipro were involved in these illegal transactions. The organizer of the scheme recruited former officials from one of the departments responsible for state registration of civil status acts in the city, who had access keys to the State Register of Civil Status Acts.

The suspects offered individuals liable for military service the opportunity to enter into fictitious marriages with people with disabilities. Subsequently, these men crossed the state border without hindrance, while the women later returned to Ukraine. After that, the criminals entered false information about the divorce into the State Register of Civil Status Acts.

Law enforcement conducted a series of searches at the addresses of registration and residence, as well as in the office and vehicle of the scheme participants. Mobile phones, flash drives, SIM card holders, copies of passports, documents, notes, stamps, and seals from medical institutions and doctors were seized.

Currently, one of the suspects in the criminal proceedings has been informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366 (Official Forgery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The collection of evidence regarding the illegal activities of all suspects is ongoing, and further qualifications are possible.
