The director of a communal enterprise of the Dnipro City Council has been suspected of overpaying two million hryvnias for purchasing radios for the Territorial Defense, as reported by "Vідомо" citing the Office of Economic Security of Ukraine.
Investigators have determined that the enterprise's head organized the procurement of radio transmission equipment at significantly inflated prices. Over 17 million hryvnias from the budget were allocated for this under the Program to Support the Territorial Defense of Dnipro for 2022-2026.
During the procurement process, the suspect did not conduct any preliminary market consultations to analyze prices and ended up overpaying an exorbitant amount.
For the embezzlement of someone else's property through the abuse of her official position during martial law, the woman faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
