On November 6, 2024, during the daytime, a patrol police crew stopped a Mercedes-Benz vehicle in the Central District of Dnipro for a routine document check. The driver provided the officers with a vehicle registration certificate and a driver's license, both of which turned out to be counterfeit. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the patrol police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

At first glance, the documents appeared quite plausible; however, a thorough inspection by the patrol raised suspicions. The police verified the authenticity of the registration certificate in the centralized databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The system returned a negative result: the number presented by the suspect belonged to a completely different vehicle.

The patrol officers also discovered discrepancies between the vehicle identification number stamped on the Mercedes-Benz chassis and the information provided in the registration certificate. The differences were significant, indicating a clear forgery, possibly even a high-quality one, as it was not easy to visually distinguish the counterfeit registration certificate from a genuine one.

In light of the violations identified, an investigative operational group was promptly summoned to the scene. The suspect faces criminal liability under the current legislation of Ukraine.
