A high-profile case of large-scale fraud is set to be reviewed in the Dnipropetrovsk region, involving prominent representatives of the legal community. The regional prosecutor has submitted an indictment to the court concerning three members of an organized crime group and an arbitration judge, accused of attempting to embezzle nearly 6 million hryvnias from a large agricultural enterprise. This was reported by "Vідомо".
The scheme, developed and executed over three years, showcases a high level of organization and the cynicism of the criminals involved. At the center of the scheme was the director of the law firm, who acted as the organizer. He drew into the criminal conspiracy a subordinate lawyer, an arbitration judge whose role was to legitimize a fictitious court decision, and a trusted person responsible for interacting with the victim and signing the necessary documents.
The group operated in a coordinated manner, employing a carefully thought-out tactic to gradually ensnare the head of the agricultural firm. A key element of the fraudulent scheme was the creation of a fictitious debt amounting to approximately 6 million hryvnias. To achieve this, the criminals forged several important documents, including two guarantee agreements in which the director of the agricultural firm allegedly took on obligations to repay someone else's debt.
The forged agreements were subsequently used as the basis for a falsified arbitration court decision, which gave the appearance of legality to the fictitious debt.
The fraudulent scheme has been uncovered. Analyzing financial flows, reviewing documentation, and conducting expert examinations have all contributed to reconstructing the complete picture of the crime. The accused face multiple charges under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Each of the defendants risks significant imprisonment.
