In Dnipropetrovsk region, law enforcement agencies successfully disrupted the activities of a large-scale drug syndicate that specialized in the production and distribution of cannabis throughout Ukraine. This information was reported by "Vidomo," citing the police of Dnipropetrovsk region.
The dismantling of this well-organized laboratory, which generated monthly income exceeding 3 million hryvnias for its organizers, was the result of prolonged and meticulous operational work.
During the investigation, authorized searches were conducted in several cities, from Dnipro to Odesa, Lviv, and Kyiv, as well as in a number of smaller settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Lviv, and Kyiv regions.
As a result of these operations, ten individuals aged between 20 and 33 years—both men and women, participants in the criminal scheme—were arrested. The organization operated according to a well-established scheme, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism and, importantly, an orientation towards minimizing risks.
The production of cannabis was carried out in a specially equipped laboratory in Dnipropetrovsk region, outfitted with modern equipment for growing hemp, as well as for extracting and purifying active substances. The cultivation employed hydroponic technologies, ensuring rapid growth and high yields.
The group had access to specialized lighting, climate control, and ventilation systems, which allowed them to maintain optimal conditions for growing hemp at any time of the year. The distribution of drugs was conducted through several channels.
A significant portion of the products was sold through a network of online stores created using various methods of concealment and anonymity. Customers could place orders and pay using cryptocurrency, primarily USDT, which complicated the tracking of financial flows by law enforcement. In addition to online sales, the group utilized the method of stash spots, hiding drugs in various locations across Ukraine, and also sent drugs via mail, employing complex schemes of concealment to prevent detection by postal services.
During the searches, in addition to the cannabis and ready-to-sell doses, a significant amount of equipment for its production was seized, including specialized lamps, fertilizers, apparatus for purification and packaging, as well as a large quantity of psychotropic substances likely used for mixing with cannabis to enhance its potency or create other narcotic drugs.
Law enforcement also discovered a substantial amount of cash in hryvnias, while frozen assets in USDT cryptocurrency amounted to 200,000 US dollars.
All detainees are suspected of organizing and participating in a criminal community, illegal production, storage, and distribution of narcotic substances. They face up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property acquired through criminal means.
