Military deferment or rear service: a scheme exploiting conscripts was dismantled in Dnipro (PHOTOS).

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, operatives from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police uncovered and halted the activities of an individual who, for a fee, assisted conscript-age men in resolving issues at the Territorial Recruitment Centers. This was reported by "Vідомо" citing the DWB.

The 33-year-old man was searching for conscripts through trusted intermediaries and offered them the chance to register for military service without visiting the TCK, obtain a deferment, or receive documents for removal from military obligation lists. For the update of military registration data and the arrangement of deferment from conscription, he proposed a bribe of 5,000 dollars to an official at the TCK.

Operatives and investigators from the SBU apprehended the suspect while he was receiving the money for what was supposedly to be handed over to a TCK employee.

The suspect was charged with inciting the provision of unlawful benefits to an official (part 4 of article 27, part 3 of article 369) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, while the individual from Khmelnytsky was charged under part 3 of article 369-2 (Abuse of Influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty for the charges is up to 8 years of imprisonment.
