Border guards apprehended a group of friends from Dnipropetrovsk region while they were attempting to enter Slovakia.

Border guards from the Chop detachment apprehended five men of conscription age who intended to illegally cross the Ukrainian-Slovak border. All five were residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region and had known each other since childhood. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The border guards determined that the men had arrived in Transcarpathia by public transport and planned to proceed to the border on foot. They had meticulously planned their route based on advice from social media. The crossing was to occur on the outskirts of the city of Uzhhorod, as it required less effort.

When the border guards stopped the men for a document check, they attempted to mislead the authorities. They claimed they had come to Transcarpathia for employment, but could not specify their workplace and consistently contradicted themselves when answering questions.

Eventually, law enforcement was able to uncover the true purpose of the group’s arrival at the border – the men indeed intended to find work, but not in Transcarpathia, rather in Slovakia.

The offenders were taken to the border unit for the preparation of administrative procedural documents under part 2 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine." Their cases will be forwarded to court.
