An 11-year-old child was hit and the driver fled the scene: police in Kryvyi Rih have apprehended the culprit of the accident (PHOTO).

In Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region, a traffic accident involving an 11-year-old girl occurred. The incident took place on Cherkasova Street. According to preliminary information, the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit the child, then fled the scene. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the patrol police of Kryvyi Rih.

Thanks to the vigilance of a witness who remembered the car brand – Volkswagen – and part of its license plate, law enforcement was able to quickly identify the perpetrator of the accident.

Police officers found the suspect, a 61-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, in his garage located in a cooperative near the accident site. The car, with visible damage matching the witness's description, was found nearby.

During the interrogation, the driver admitted his guilt. The investigator is determining the details and circumstances of the incident.
