Border guards apprehended residents of Dnipropetrovsk region attempting to escape Ukraine on foot, planning to walk 25 km. (VIDEO)

In one of the villages of the Podolsky district, border guards from the Podolsky unit apprehended five men. The travelers were captured by the surveillance equipment monitoring the border. This was reported by "Vідомо," citing the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

It is noted that residents from the Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions intended to illegally cross the Transnistrian segment of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. To execute their plan, the men followed advice from an administrator of a Telegram channel. Following this advice, the offenders arrived at a gathering point, from where they were supposed to walk more than 25 km to the state border, but they never made it. Had the crossing been successful, the admin would have received 120,000 hryvnias from each traveler to a cryptocurrency wallet.

Protocols have been drawn up against the offenders under Article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine." The cases have been forwarded to court.
