In 2024, the city of Dnipro is experiencing a decrease in cases of vandalism compared to the previous year; however, this does not indicate that the issue has been resolved. On the contrary, the losses incurred by the city remain substantial, raising serious concerns—vandalism in the parks and squares continues to cause damage estimated at several hundred thousand hryvnias. This information was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Dnipro City Council.

Among the most common acts of vandalism are the theft of plants and damage to flowerbeds. Hundreds of stolen flowers and ornamental plants that have been planted make the parks less appealing.

During the peak blooming season, roses and tulips are frequently picked. Additionally, lavender bushes are often stolen, and hydrangeas are particularly favored by "local vandals." For instance, in the Prydniprovskiy Park, several dozen barberry and lavender bushes were planted, but about 40 percent of the seedlings were dug up overnight. A similar situation occurred on Monastery Island, where 20 bushes were stolen. The vandals likely thought no one would notice, but experts saw everything.

Playgrounds also fall victim to vandalism—many structural elements such as slides, swings, and benches are frequently broken or damaged. In some cases, vandals leave their "creations" in the form of graffiti, which does not enhance the aesthetics of the city’s green areas.
