On one of the main streets of the city of Samara in the Dnipropetrovsk region, an assailant snatched a bag from the hands of a 63-year-old man and fled the scene. However, the contents of the thief's haul likely proved disappointing. Soon after, he was apprehended by the police. This was reported by "Vидомо," referencing the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk region.
The crime occurred on January 27 at around 7 PM near one of the houses on Ukrainian Street. The police found out that the unknown individual had taken a bag containing money, documents, and personal items belonging to the victim. After committing the act, he escaped.
Law enforcement identified the perpetrator and located him. He turned out to be a 28-year-old man with a prior conviction, temporarily residing in the city of Samara. The stolen items were confiscated by the police. Among the belongings were pills, an icon, dandruff, a corkscrew, glasses, and documents.
On December 29, under the procedural guidance of the Novomoskovsk District Prosecutor's Office, investigators informed the offender of the suspicion under part 4 of Article 186 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court has now chosen a preventive measure for the suspect – detention.
