The police of Dnipro detained two men who decided to throw grenades in the Novokodak district of the city, resulting in damage to a flower shop, balcony facades, and shattered windows, although no one was injured, reports "Vідомо."
The law enforcement officers tracked down and apprehended the individuals involved in the grenade explosion on January 17 on Korobov Street. They turned out to be two residents of Synelnykove, aged 21 and 27. The investigation is looking into what prompted them to take such aggressive actions, but they are currently in custody.
The police conducted a series of searches during which they seized mobile phones, a car that the detainees used to arrive at the crime scene, personal belongings, and other physical evidence that may indicate their involvement in the crime. Additionally, the officers confiscated a glass jar, cardboard boxes, plastic containers, and zip-lock bags containing a plant-based substance, along with ammunition and knives.
Investigators, in coordination with the Western District Prosecutor's Office, informed the two men of their suspicion under part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, military supplies, or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An additional criminal proceeding has been opened under article 309 of the Criminal Code.
