A driver from Dnipro was involved in a fatal accident in the Khmelnytskyi region.

A fatal traffic accident occurred in the city of Letichev, Khmelnytskyi region, involving a driver from Dnipro. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the National Police of Ukraine in Khmelnytskyi region.

The incident took place on January 16 in Letichev. A 57-year-old truck driver driving a "Volvo FH 460" from Dnipro struck a 54-year-old pedestrian from Khmelnytskyi who was crossing the road near the fish market. The pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of road safety rules or operation of transport by persons managing vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Investigations are underway.
